Heavy Weather (44 x 60 inches), is one of eight paintings by Andrew Tavarelli, professor of the practice of fine arts, that will be on display in public areas of the McMullen’s new Brighton Campus home when it opens September 12. The museum’s inaugural exhibition will be Beyond Words: Illuminated Manuscripts in Boston Collections. A three-venue collaboration with Harvard’s Houghton Library and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, it will feature pieces from 19 Boston-area institutions. That show, and Tavarelli’s works, can be viewed until December 11.
