It is both disturbing and disheartening to hear of BC’s decision to give in to the pressure of the courts to give up confidential material that not only endangers the lives of the interviewees but also puts into question the trust afforded Boston College by these people. I am personally ashamed for those in the administration who did not have the fortitude to stand up for the promise originally made to these people and disgusted with the fact that this important oral history is being sacrificed to help the British government solve a crime that they should have been able to do themselves.
