Communion is not just drinking grape juice. Communion is taking part in the body of Messiah. The things that we say and do in the body are of profound significance. We cannot speak of our own initiative. If we do, we are taking the place of God as head of His body. This is very serious. Many of our Confessions have taken the initiative to say that God is no longer the head of His body. They say that God no longer reveals His will to His body like He used to without any references to Scripture. If I didn’t read it for myself, I would find this hard to believe. How can some 1500-1900 years go by without anyone catching this rather blatant and obvious error in teaching? People are a lot like sheep. Just because someone stands up and says something doesn’t mean that what he is saying is to be believed or followed blindly. Just because Augustine or someone says something. Augustine seems to be very intelligent but if he says that God no longer speaks to people, we need to be sure that what he is saying is true or prove it false. The State of England sponsored the Confessions. They got together some of the brightest minds of the time. How could they say something like that without any objections for hundreds of years? They took charge of the body of Messiah themselves, by saying that God stopped revealing His will to people the way He always did.

I don’t know what to say. I would like an answer from someone who represents the Protestant Confession teachings if that was possible. All these years, what was supposed to be a defense of the word turns out to be an assault on God. We have so many bright pastors and teachers. How can we allow something like this to happen? How can we let someone take over the body of Messiah like that saying that God no longer reveals His will like He used to, without anyone asking any questions? Does anyone have anything to say?

Shalom!

Hey, this is amazing!

Say it like it is Dan.

The Spirit of God speaks utterances too deep for words… so much for a closed canon of Scripture. Out goes the (man initiated) closed canon. In comes (the Scriptural) seeking most to prophesy! The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. The (continued) fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel, here we come!
