I read the article this evening and was excited to hear about the wonderful and major project between BC and the Boston area public schools in establishing a “life support” system for the children to prevent our children from falling behind. Currently, I work with pre-kindergarten children in an autism cluster program at a public school in Washington, DC. Another teacher, who is also of the class of 1977, works with students (inclusion) at the same school.
I’ve worked in the corporate world for over 20 years and I cannot believe what I have seen and heard about the education system and its process the DC public schools, to the point that it grieves me. I am planning to take a course at BC from the School of Theology this summer and desire to me with you to share my concerns and goals of developing a tutoring program outside of DC public schools to help exceptional children.
Is there a possibility that we could meet? Please contact me at your earliest convenience; my email address is lwspoon@hotmail.com. Keep up the great work. I really appreciate how the article shed some light. God Bless!
