Just read Mr. Birnbaum’s fine article, but I must disagree with his contention that this is the greatest stretch of BC football success. What about the Gil Dobie-Frank Leahy eras of 1936-1942, which included an undefeated team and a national championship in 1940? That would still be tops in my book. Thanx. The 1940 national championship is not recognized by the NCAA and therefore does not count as an actual National Championship. Unfortunate, but true.
